A good aftercare process matters just as much as a good build — it’s what turns a new house into a home you feel confident in from day one.
What to expect at handover
When you collect keys, we’ll walk you through the essentials so you’re not left guessing:
- Heating and hot water controls (including “day-to-day” tips)
- Ventilation and extractor fans
- Stopcocks, consumer unit, and key isolation points
- Any installed appliances and how to register them (where relevant)
Snagging
It’s completely normal to have small items to adjust after you move in — especially as the home settles.
How we handle snags:
- You report items using our snagging route (email/form — whatever you prefer)
- We log each item and confirm what’s covered and the likely timescale
- We group visits where possible (so you’re not constantly arranging access)
- We keep you updated until everything is closed out
Typical snags might include minor paint touch-ups, adjustments to doors/ironmongery, or small sealant and finish tweaks.
Documentation and certificates
You should receive clear information on:
- Heating controls and recommended settings
- Warranty details and how to use them
- Certificates (as applicable) for electrical, any ventilation systems, etc.
- Finishes and maintenance guidance (paint, flooring, worktops, silicone, external surfaces)
Settling-in notes (the “new home” reality)
Some movement and seasonal change is expected in the first year. We’ll explain what’s normal (and what isn’t) so you feel reassured, not worried.
Ongoing support
We want you to feel looked after, not left wondering who to contact.
If you have questions at any stage — before or after you move in — just ask. We’re here to help.
